It's the weekend before our first international trip since 2019. I am excited of course, but also a bit nervous. Mainly because I am not sure how much things may have changed, or how close to "normal" things are now. I almost titled this entry "Post-COVID Trip," but that wouldn't be right. COVID is still with us in some form and I think it'll hang around awhile. It's thrown everybody some surprises over the past two or three years.
On to better things--on this trip my wife, Fe, and I are going to Portugal. We'll be there for roughly eleven days, arriving in Lisbon on October 20 (11:15 am) and leaving Porto on October 30 (7:55 pm). We're both looking forward to it since--as this post's title implies--we haven't travelled internationally since 2019 (see earlier blog post in the profile). My passport probably thinks I was in jail. Sorry to those who may have heard me say that already--it's too good a line not to put in here.
Here's a Google map of some of the sights we want to see:
A simple Portuguese lesson will be the last thing I put here today--and I am sure you already knew it. In the blog title, "Bom dia" is Portuguese for "good day." What you might not know is that the "m" in bom (in European Portuguese) is silent. It would sound more like the French "bon" in "bon voyage."
